All San Lorenzo Unified students are eligible for free breakfast every day. At Hesperian we serve breakfast from 7:40 AM to 7:55 AM. Please have your student join us every morning for a no-cost breakfast beginning at 7:40 AM. Important: Please do not send your children to school before 7:45 AM as there is no supervision prior to this time (unless they are having breakfast). Please do not park in the drop-off/pick-up loop, nor in parking spaces as they are designated for STAFF only. This is a safety hazard for our staff and students.
All San Lorenzo Unified students are eligible for free lunch every day. In order to continue to provide appropriate funding it is important for all families that have not received a direct certification letter to complete the meal application
When children are dismissed at the end of the day, they are to go directly home or to childcare at that time. They are not to remain at school as there is no supervision after dismissal. Thank you for adjusting your schedule to assist us with the care and welfare of your child.

 As always, if you have questions or concerns, reach out to your child’s teacher.
As the vision for the San Lorenzo Unified School District states, we are working to build critical
thinkers, readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. We are striving to support our
students to be advocates for social justice and change.

Please keep in mind that across our nation, students and schools are in the same situation. The
term “learning loss” has been used in the news, but it’s not a term that we are using in San
Lorenzo. No learning has been lost during this pandemic. Students learned different skills that
may not be reflected on our standard report card. If you have questions about this, please feel
free to reach out to me.

Thank you for all you are doing to make sure your children are healthy, at school regularly, and
ready to learn.
