 As always, if you have questions or concerns, reach out to your child’s teacher.
As the vision for the San Lorenzo Unified School District states, we are working to build critical
thinkers, readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. We are striving to support our
students to be advocates for social justice and change.

Please keep in mind that across our nation, students and schools are in the same situation. The
term “learning loss” has been used in the news, but it’s not a term that we are using in San
Lorenzo. No learning has been lost during this pandemic. Students learned different skills that
may not be reflected on our standard report card. If you have questions about this, please feel
free to reach out to me.

Thank you for all you are doing to make sure your children are healthy, at school regularly, and
ready to learn.

Sincerely,
Ruby Camarena
Principal
Hesperian School
