Welcome to Ms. Olsen's Teacher Page

My name is Lisa Olsen and I have been teaching here at Hesperian for 24 years now. When it comes to teaching, science is my passion, and I see it as a way to spark curiosity and enthusiasm in my students.  I enjoy spending time and traveling with my family.  My hobbies include reading, baking, archery, and singing in my church choir.  I live in San Lorenzo with my husband, two cats, and an annoying parrot.

Inspired by
I love learning new things and sharing them with others.

College
I attended Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay) both for my degree and teaching credential.

District Tools I Use

Attendance
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App.

Report Cards
I use Aeries to generate report cards.  Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Google Classroom
I am using Google Classroom with my students.  At this time I am not using it to assign work that would be graded, but as supplemental assignments in class that go along with our units, and as a place where our commonly used websites can be easily accessed.  Students can and are encouraged to access our Classroom page from home.
